ABOUT THIS SEMINAR

This is for all you ECG and cardiology bookworms out there. You’re a busy highly qualified medical professional and you’re already confident in your ECG interpretation skills, but you feel there are still some gaps in your knowledge. Or perhaps you’ve spent several years “getting by” but you’re frustrated because there are still some areas of confusion. You’ve heard colleagues talk about high-grade AV blocks, AVNRT/AVRT, or different types of ventricular tachycardia, but you’re not entirely sure what it all means. You’d like to know more about pacing, electrolyte abnormalities, STEMI equivalents, and STEMI mimics such as takotsubo and pericarditis. Not to mention that the term “cardiomyopathy” can mean a whole host of things and is a bit of a minefield. If this is your experience and you’d finally like to nail down all these topics, then this is the seminar for you.

This is ideal for delegates who already have a good working knowledge of ECG rhythms and common 12-lead abnormalities. It quickly reviews some of the basic concepts outlined in the beginner’s course and then concentrates on intermediate to advanced topics that are not often included in basic training sessions. All topics are followed up by clinical case studies and practice sessions. More background electrophysiology is covered enabling you to gain a thorough understanding of how and why certain waveform morphologies occur. Emphasis is also given to differential diagnosis and clinical significance. All of this is particularly important for those of you who wish to acquire a comprehensive understanding of ECG interpretation, and for those involved in training other members of staff.

This seminar is suitable for anyone who has attended the beginner’s course or for medical professionals who already have a good background in ECG interpretation. It is not compulsory for delegates to have attended a prior course; however, this seminar contains a lot of fast paced information and so it’s essential that delegates can interpret common cardiac arrhythmias (such as sinus rhythms, premature beats, AF and flutter), and be able to recognise ST depression, ST elevation, and bundle branch block.

Past delegates include cardiac physiologists, specialist cardiac nurses, paramedics, and doctors.
